Waiting List

Hi there. we have appealed against our son not getting into 1st choice school.

we realise that our best chance in is through the waiting list. how is this worked out?

do they look who meets the criteria the closest. so a person living the shortest distance would be number one.

or do they place someone who is in catchment area and has a sibling at the school higher on the waiting list?

They should apply the same criteria as per the original applications, so if siblings are prioritised above distance then they will be placed ahead.

As Lizs says, they have to use the admission criteris to decide the order on the waiting list. If the admission criteria place children with siblings higher priority than distance, they will go at the head of the waiting list.
