Teaching assistants/teachers

Hi

Can someone tell me how many hours an infant classs should be left with a teaching assistant. (reception class)

How many hours per week does a teacher get away from her class?

And if a teacher is to 'act' up as a deputy head ( the Dep Head does not start at her new school until Sept) how much handover to they need?

My daughters teacher never seems to take her class now - she was in interviews for 2 days for new staff member, seems to have 1.5 days doing 'personal development' and now seems to have a day for handover of dep head job!!
Is this what happens in schools.

As a nurse most of my personal development was done in my own time and when I 'acted' up I got a days handover!

Thanks if you can answer my questions I would be grateful.

PPA is usually half a day. Is she acting deputy head? IME they are out of the class quite a lot. Training is usually done in school time except for twilights/INSETs as staff cannot be told to do training in their own time (not worth getting into the teachers contract here!)

IIRC there was something brought in about the foundation stage having to have a teacher all of the time and not be covered by a HLTA/Principal TA(should never be just a TA)

Thanks. She is technically not Acting Dep head until Sept, so that is why I am asking as she is out of the classroom a lot already. Seems she is aaway more than she is there!!
