Playscripts for individual reading?

A question for KS1 teachers, really; would you send a child home with playscripts as reading books?

Possibly - we have some. Why not get all the family to take characters and join in?

oh this drives me crazy - ds was a late reader and the stupid lay out (of a script as opposed to paragraphs) really confused him. just cannot face asking about it, teacher already v luke warm to me

Yes. They cover them in literacy and the ORT ones are quite good.

DD has an ORT stage 8 playscript which we have done our best with; but she said at the end "I preferred the book" which she read from the library last summer. The saga continues...

They're great for developing expression. My dds would get dolls or the guinea pigs to play parts and do silly voices for them.
