Does anyone actually know the catchment area for West Hove Infant School?

Finding Brighton and Hove school admissions website a minefield. Why can't they have clear pictures of where catchments are for the last 3 years, therefore can judge where the real cut off's are, I know some schools are about 700 metres! Anyway does anyone know if the area south of New Church Rd, near Boundary road is still safe for admission to west Hove Infants? Ta

There isn't a clear cut-off as it's done on distance which changes each year because of number of applicants, siblings etc.

Ring the council and they will tell you how far the distance was for the last few years.

Cool thanks, good idea. But I don't really understand why they can't put last years (or last few years) distances up on their website or the schools own website....although I'm sure everyone says the same thing!

Yes, the distance does change each year, depending on how many siblings are admitted as they have higher priority. It is down to actual metres walking distance from the school, so you can have children in the same street but at different ends who have to go to different schools. Despite being huge, West Hove has a small catchment as the area has a high proprotion of young families and there are few schools around. The council are 'intending' to build a new school to serve central Hove, but who knows when that will happen.
Best of luck
