Sacred Heart School, Teddington - any feedback?

Hi, we live in Twickenham and didn't get any of our choices for Primary School for our DS. We've been allocated a place at The Sacred Heart, Teddington which is 3 miles from us but the closest with space! Does anyone know if this is a good school, feedback, etc?

I'm giving up on the waiting lists as we're 18th - 20th on three of them and those are for schools that are no more than a mile away

Met someone at swimming lessons with 3 DS there also from Twickenham. They chose it over St James's as it was less pressured both church wise and academically but still did really well. They thought it was fantastic

That's good to hear - thanks Maybe I just need to get used to the fact that we won't be able to walk to school.

My dc's go there and we all love it.It's a lovely small school. Surprised it had spaces though as its usually oversubscribed [hmmm]. If you are concerned with league results you will be happy to know it ranked joint 2nd/3rd in the borough last year.

I live just round the corner from Sacred Heart. My kids don't go there (we're not Catholic) but it has a good reputation locally and the kids seem nice, well behaved etc...

I also live close by, but mine don't go there (also not catholic), but I know people who do and they like it alot; small, friendly school

Hi, just saw this thread and wanted to reassure you. My DD started there last year and we love it. She is doing really well and its a very friendly and warm school. They get great results too. It wasn't our first choice but we don't regret it for one minute....in fact we wouldn't have it any other way now. Also parking at drop off and pick up is easy!

Hi, I have 2 kids at Sacred heart and we love it. Chose it over st. James's because it is a one form entry school - small, caring and nurturing but with great academic results. The mum's playground is friendly too and it all adds up to a great community school. Check out The Times top 100 primaries and the league tables and you'll be reassured.

Lucky you! Sacred Heart is a great school. Academically very good and the advantage of being a one form entry school. I guess you got a place from Twickenham because they are taking a "bulge" year in September - that is, for one year only, they will be two form entry. This is to try and alleviate the pressure for school places in the borough. In my humble opinion, you couldn't do better.
