No, she should take it. DS took his 50m swimming badge in the other week ! Where is the harm ??

who wuold think she was showing off - i doubt the other DCs even understand showing off.
My DS has taken swimming badges in.

Ok thanks for that! When I ask DD what the others take she says pebbles, toys etc so I wasn't sure what the form was!

IME the teacher gets a bit fed up of the usual toys etc being brought in for no reason other than wanting to have something to show with no real reason. So something like a swimming badge will definitely be more interesting to talk about. Your daughter should be proud and should be congratulated. Why would you think it was too showy-offy? Let her celebrate her achievements!

My DS just took in his special items from his baby box. He was a premmi (only 1lb 14oz born). They loved looking at his ickle sleepsuit, dummy, ID band and photographs. Some of his friends have taken in their swimming badges and next week DS wants to take in his level 1 football badge. Let her take whatever she wants and feels confident talking about.

do it! Kids of that age are so chuffed of their achievments - it's good for her self-esteem.

DS1 took in his first tooth that fell out. His teacher apparently had to call a halt to the event when he started wittering about the blood "gushing" from his hole..........
