Help! I don't know what to prepare my daughter for in her short writing sats KS1 paper. Any suggestions will be received gratefully

I know one woman at a different school, who is making her daughter do practice KS1 sats papers (from WH Smiths, I think), but my son isn't doing any preparation nor is anyone else I know.

Our teacher said that we didn't need to do anything. I wouldn't worry and I would have said it's too late to do anything now.

True but I don't want to let her down. Her confidence has gone since she was bullied...and this will boost her if she does well so I'm only teaching her how to do things like reports, stories but I'm stuck on short writing tasks any ideas?

I would suggest you leave her to it.

Sorry but the KS1 level is mostly teacher assessed anyway, they will know what yr DD can do and no amount of extra work is going to change that.

(meant nicely, honestly )

Weren't they last week? Or was my DD doing yet more tests?!

Please don't. It's mostly teacher assessed, and artificially inflating her grade by concentrating on the test could make her life difficult later on. They shouldn't even be really aware that they are doing it - practicing at home just makes it seem bigger and more daunting than it is.
