I am a qualified teacher, but been woking in early years for the last 2yrs.....I am now desperate to teach year one but im struggling to put down in words exactly WHY! I am trying desperately to think of reason why such a transition could be favourable to the school.....anybody got any views on this to get me going?

Thanks!

I would ignore what is favourable to the school and start from the basis that you are looking to extend your career and that you need to experience of working in both KS1 and KS2. The obvious first move is to a KS1 teaching commitment from the foundation stage.

The only sensible thing to say in terms of what is favourable to the school is that you have two years experience of teaching in early years and you would be applying as a teacher with some experience. Schools may be looking to balance up NQTs with teachers with experience but i can't think of a reason that promotes your early years experience as being the absolute reason to employ.
