....you forgot your 9 year olds games kit (definitely your fault, not his - you told him to get in the car and you'd put it in his bag and you realized when you got home that you hadn't) so you took half an hour out of a very busy day to deliver it and the school secretary said she'd make sure he got it, but it turned out that it sat in the office all day and your ds spent the afternoon doing handwriting practice instead of playing cricket?

definitely one of those threads!

not the secretary's job to hand deliver pe kit

Rockbird · 10/05/2010 19:29

So why say she would then? If you say you're going to do something then do it.

hana · 10/05/2010 19:29

no I wouldn't have gone back for the bag - one day out isn't going to hurt him

choufleur · 10/05/2010 19:30

i would be cross if she said she would make sure he'd get it. she shouldn't say that if she doesn't plan to.

TheFallenMadonna · 10/05/2010 19:30

I'd be cross yes. Partly with myself, partly with the sectretary. But frankly, not cross enough to make a fuss about it.

That happened to me once too, they gave dd her P.E kit as she left school that afternoon. Also, school rang me once to say she had forgotten her flute and could I bring it in, in the next 10 minutes,It takes me longer than that to drive to school!

Yes, it is her job to hand over the PE kit when delivered to the office, unless she was willing to admit you into school to do it.

what thefallenmadonna said

MumInBeds · 10/05/2010 19:45

I'm not sure I would feel cross but I'd feel guilty.

All in all though, there was no intention to do harm by anyone so it is just one of those things, a shame but still just one of those things.

BariatricObama · 10/05/2010 19:55

heh! where has the op gone! is she a troll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seeker · 10/05/2010 21:12

I know, I know. But he does so love games, and it was such a lovely day on Friday! And handwriting practice instead seems a little harsh!

And I'm a Governor, so I could have abused my position and taken it to him myself, but I was in a real rush.
