Independent schools in London/ Hertfordshire

We are re-locating from Glasgow to London this summer. Here, my kids are in good indepenedent schools and we are looking for similar schools. Having made several phone calls my kids have been assessed and offered places at Radlett Prep, which we and they loved. However, friends and family members say that I should write and keep calling HABS, NLCS etc to try and get them in now as it would be less stressful than the big push at 11+. Can anyone give me guidance / advice on what i should do and more info on Radlett Prep?

I would stick with Radlett Prep if i were you. It is a lovely school and rather than jumpng straight in Habs etc it will give you a chance to really get a feel of where suits your children. The only thing I didn't like about it was that there were no school dinners but that's pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. RP pretty much feeds into Habs so the chances are that you would get in there at 11.

If you're going to be living in Herts then you'll also be well placed to consider Watford Grammar and if relevant JFS and Yavneh College which are both outstanding non selective comprehensives with accelerated streams which have increasing number of children coming from preps.

Thanks for the advice. We are really happy with what we saw and the info we have collected at RP so will definitely go ahead there.
