Was just wondering how much these usually cost parents for a week away with the school? Does £220 seem expensive or is it normal?

Dd1 went to France for 5 days in yr 5 and that cost £250.

Dd2 is going on a residential trip for five days in this country and that will be £150.

Ours is a 5 day/4 night PGL (UK) for £330 - as far as I recall last year 3 days was around £250 at JCA?

bradsmissus · 29/04/2010 10:48

DD in year 6 is going to Paris for 3 days, including a day at Disney - original price was £250 but we have just had £50 refund as they were able to take a few more kids which brought the overall cost down. I think it's the best value trip we've come across at school.

Year 4 trip only about 30 miles from school was £80 for 3 days - activity centre with no water sports/activities.

LIZS · 29/04/2010 16:43

ds' trip to Normandy was about £250, dd's trip to Devon (long weekend) will be about £180

roisin · 29/04/2010 19:05

Yr6 - £85 for 3 days including transport and full board - activity holiday in the Lake District.

Do I win?!

majafa · 30/04/2010 10:43

Our yr 5 & 6 go to Norfolk traveling monday, home friday. The trip is to complement what they are learning in class, so not all play, mostley learning.

Last year it was £250 if I remember right

bruffin · 30/04/2010 10:48

seems quite reasonable- I think dd's was over £300 for PGL

titchy · 30/04/2010 10:58

£220 seems OK - we pay aboutthat (in installments). at roisin's £85!!!!!

Yr5: £95 for Weds morn to early Friday afternoon, at local Guides adventure centre (we parents deliver them and collect them from there). We must provide packed lunch on the Weds!

Yr6: ~£200 for Mon-Friday trip by coach to Derbyshire.

deaddei · 01/05/2010 10:09

About £320 for 5 days PGL (poncey south so they've probably added on £50 for that!)
Thank goodness we knew about it in October and could pay in installments.

Niecie · 01/05/2010 10:11

£235 for Yr 5 one (4 nights) and £270ish for Yr 6 one (also 4 nights)

Yr 4 one was only 2 nights and about £150 so £220 sounds reasonable to me but then it depends what you are doing.

strawberrycake · 01/05/2010 19:39

£150 for 3 nights in yr 6 at ours, and I feel bad asking for that. It's a 3 day adventure/ activity holiday with all done for teachers around 80miles away(one of the better trips to be on!) We charge £50 for our 3 night trip in year five, although the church own the building and only charge a nominal fee, it mainly goes on food/ the 60 mile coach journey. The activities on this trip are teacher or church worker led and is more liad back with simple things, mass, team games, walks etc, just enjoying country air really.. simple meals , kids wash up and clean up and videos and sleeping bags are the evening entertainment.

I have just been talking to someone whose child is going away for a week next year with school and it will be £240.

flaime · 02/05/2010 15:33

Our year 4's are going away for 3 days (2 nights) and that's costing us £150.

Daren't ask how much the 5 day year 6 trip is going to be

We get to pay in ten installments.
