What's a non-chronological description? Y2 SATs

Dd's teacher said their writing SAT will be a non-chronological description. What the heck is that?!

I would expect the children to have some background knowledge before beginning to write.

Chill! Our county moderators don't even like us bringing the SATs writing tasks to moderation meetings any more. They just want to see a set of writing books (which have a record of a child's attainment over a number of writing tasks) assessed using APP grids.

We have to do the SATs tasks, but they count for very little, apart from an extra piece of writing to add to the assessment records.

It's odd how you find yourself caught up in worrying about these things. I didn't think I would ever let it bother me, just take it in my stride.
