Moving schools

Apologies if this has been covered before.

We've applied for and got a place at our local school for DD1 to start in September. However, we're planning to move next Summer (between reception and Yr 1).

We're planning to rent (unless the perfect house to buy comes up at the right time) so we'll only be able to apply for schools once we've signed contracts - prob quite close to moving. If there isn't a place available at our catchment school can I keep her in her current school even if it's quite far away but in the same county/under the same council?? Or, with two other younger DDs will the school run just be a nightmare?

I will check with our local council but just wondered what other's experience was.

Thanks,
Alyssa
