Okebrook or Friar Gate I think are 2 good ones

Do you mean state school or private school?

When Americans say public school they mean what we in UK call Private school.

No public schools in Derby in UK meaning of term...

Sorry I meant to say Americans say public school but mean what UK people call state school (gahh)

Friargate-best private primary? you have to be joking!!! It's on the verge of closing down, god knows how it's survived this long.

State primaries-depends what you are looking for. My friend withdrew her DD from the league-table topping Walter Evans Primary because the pastoral care was non-existent and they piled reception age kids with homework.

disagree Friargate excellent school

Bizarre post fritata, I hold no brief to attack or defend any school per se but Friargate House School was graded inadequate in its last Ofsted, which means quite a lot to even an Ofsted-sceptic like me!

Anyway OP, if you mean state schools in Derby, there are many and most are pretty good tbh.

Middle-class areas by and large have schools with higher grades; but often you will find a school in an inner-city area with excellent staff and very good progress made by pupils.

No one school is the best. I hate the idea that anyone would pick this school over that one on the basis, for example, of SATs results alone (and yet it does happen).
