DD was four at the end of jan. She wont start school until after christmas. So, almost a year.
Shes very bright. ( but of course i would say that! )
She got a very active imagination. She makes up storys, songs. We do a lot of things and lots of talking about the world around us. We read, we watch films/tv/ we cook/ grown things.
She knows letters and numbers and is doing these at nursery. Ive not actually done any teaching with her.
When i read im trying to read slower and point to the words as im reading them. no idea if this will help at all.
She not fab at colouring/drawing so we are trying to do a bit more of this. she does do quite a lot of it at nursery.
I know a few of her peers can write their own names. but ive noticed that a lot of the time its all in capitals and i thought they learnt lower case first.
Shes just 4, i think i shouldnt teach her anything. She should just be free to be. But i dont want her to be behind when she starts reception.
So... what should i be doing with her?
