living and primary schools in Welwyn herts

Hi All, moving from Australia after running into trouble finding somewhere to live in Harpendan and St Albans are considering Welwyn. Just wondered if anyone is able to advise on how this town compares to St Albans and can recommend any good state Primary Schools Many thanks

have no ideas of schools but visited welwyn garden city the other day and was very impressed at how lovely it looks! i want to move there

I think property there is a bit cheaper - possibly because the rail links with London are not as fast. The plus points are that it has a John Lewis but it feels a bit "new town" ish because of the way the centre is laid out...

I think Misdee lives there or nearby so she could probably give you the lowdown on schools...
