Scottish primary mums - school report

Hi, my DD has just got her P3 report card. Most of the C categories are 1, which is good but nearly all the S ones are 2 ie some support needed (out of 1 - 4).

Is this normal or should I be expecting mainly/all 1's? I asked her teacher and got a vague "she's doing fine" answer, as usual, so I just wanted to check.

She has also not finished her A level in reading and writing although I know that she has exactly the same books etc (and neater writing) then her peers, again is this normal?

This is prefectly normal in P2. I am a primary school teacher and most children (this means 75%) will achieve level A in reading, writing and maths by the end of P3!!! Please don't get uptight about it.

Just re read my post and it really doesn't answer your question. Lots of schools will only do national tests at certain times of the year, so she may sit these tests in May. These tests will also disappear in the next year as the Curriculum for Excellence begins to take shape.
