Has he/she settled in well?
How is he/she doing in general?
Is there anything we could be doing at home which would improve anything?

TBH the teacher will probably just tell you everything you need to know without you having to search for it by asking any particular questions.

Any concerns? That's what I always want to know.

You only get 5 minutes anyway so there's not much time to fill with questions and answers.

I'd also ask if there was anything achieved during the year which has really impressed? Are there any particular areas of strength or weakness? Will s/he be ready for Y1 in September?

In reception I never knew what to ask anad the teacher who was lovely just said she is fine. this year teacher has lovely prepared piece about DD.
The questions I wish I had asked:

Does she participate in class dicussion?
How does she interact with the other children?
How does the reading scheme work, do they have to read every book in the box to move up?
Does she have any particular strengths?

I was completely unaware that in reception my DD was doing year 1 maths and only this year when the teacher reported that she was coping well with the year 2 Maths did I have any idea that she was advanced in maths.
