Parents evening/meeting .. what to ask & expect

Just a little question.

I have my first parents meeting/evening with my dd's teacher (reception class) this afternoon, and I wondered if there should be any thing specific to ask and what to expect.

What sort of things should I ask?

you will be told that dd is a lovely little girl, mixing well with peers etc. settling in. all the usual. not much more than that for reception.

I would focus my questions on how DD is getting on with the other children, if she seems happy and settled, and whether she is coping with the "demands" of school (learning to do things for herself, think about others, take turns, share, etc etc).

Presumably you don't have any specific concerns?

It will basically be very bland. She's lovely/ settled/ sweet/ talkative/ a few descriptive words.
The only deviation from this is if she has a stark problem and you'd probably already know about this e.g. biting other kids/ hitting.

Don't expect to hear anything startlingly insightful or interesting.

@undercover, no concerns really tbh. Maybe the separation anxiety in the mornings, but I think she settles down quickly, or I would have heard something by now

seems to be worse on a monday, so not sure if they do something on a monday that she doesnt like, or the fact that is is just monday!!

Lets face it .. who wants to go to work/school on a monday!!
