Never heard of it. Nothing mentioned on school calendar or in one of thousands of book bag letters, so I'm guessing nowt happening at our place either.

TBH, I'm getting a smidge fed up with national this week, national that day.....but then, maybe I'm just jaded. It's been a long winter!

Our school is doing nowt...

In fact our school has told DS1 (yr6) that they won't be doing science now til after SATs because Science isn't going to tested

Another example of kids jumping through hoops to get good grades in tests which are designed to rate the school not the child..

Some of the science / technology / engineering museums are running events / activities for science week though, so if you want your kids to be involved , that might be the way to do it.

"Amd I think it isn't good enough"

Clearly, since you've seen fit to begin two threads two nights running, saying the same thing! (Blame the wine, Strix! )

We are having a school assembly, having a visiting speaker come in, taking G&T pupils out, and having a family quiz night.

Actually, I put up the first thread, realised typo in thread title, and immediatelt posted second one expecting first one to die. But, it got picked up a day later.

Still my fault for the typo in the thread.

What do you mean by "taking G&T pupils out" Where are they going?

gingertoo - your DS doesn't get to do science because of stupid waste of time SATs?

OMG

Strix · 01/03/2010 17:05

Oh, I missed gingertoo's comment. That is crap. I would be annoyed. Maybe you should skip out during SAT's week to go to the museums?
