Just that really, my DD was tested last week ,but I have no idea about it being a good or bad result . The last thing we got from school had levels 1L 1S 1U etc. on it so has no bearing on this number. TIA

3c means they are at the beginning of level 3, this is above average for yr2, they are expected to still be working in level 2 at this age, so she is doing well!!

Thanks for that, I'm not concerned with her ability or lack there of. I just wish when you get information ,they would use the same system ,each time.
It doesn't take much to me at the moment

It's very good. At my year 2 consultation last week I asked the teacher in an average year 2 class of 30 kids how many would normally hit level 3 at the end of the year. And she said "about 5". So that puts your DD in about the top 10% ( I have adjust a bit upward because it is not yet the end of the year).

The L S and H that was given with level 1 refers to low level 1, secure level 1 and high level 1, the letters c,b and A are also used but mean the same so

3c - low level 3 or 3L
3b - secure level 3 or 3s
3a - High level 3 or 3h

All v. confusing, but the low, secure or high wording is meant to be the way things are headed !! Why that have to change it, who knows!!
