I need to get my lo into a state primary school in Winchmoe Hill, north london.

Has anyone heard of any of these schools and if so are they any good?

Grange park primary
Eversley Park Primary
Merryhills primary

Any advice would be very appreciated.Thank you.

They are all good, all are 3 form entry so 90 kids per year but only grange park is properly set up for so many kids. You need to visit all 3, but personally Grange park really cares about the kids, Eversley cares about maintaining its Ofsted and Merryhills is just lovely.

Palmers Green School for Girls - does anyone know anything about this school/know anyone who's DD's attend? Thanks

Wheelies, thanks for the reply, I went to visit Grange Park last week and liked it very much, although I don't recall seeing any science lab. Do you know if they have one??

Going to see merryhills this week and Eversley in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your feedback on this.

Mumster70, my neighbour's daughter has been at PGS since she was 4 years and is now 13. She can't speak highly enough about it. I have just received their prospectus, it looks really good on paper also. My concern is the thought of having to pay the fees for the next 16-18 years though. When you tot it up you could buy a flat with the money. There are a lot of other costs not just the fees, my neighbours daughter goes away a few time a year with the school and all books, and extra curriculum activities have to be paid for separately. It is really quite expensive, which is why I am exploring all my options before I resort to going private.

stilletoe - thanks for the advice. Tell me about it re costs. I'm also weighing up all the options re schooling. Will stay put I think so that my DD will get into one of the local primaries in Muswell Hill but then need to move for more space and was considering Palmers Green/Winchmore Hill. The problem thereafter will be Secondary schooling.
