Hi everyone,
my dd#1 is aged 8 in year four and she needs a little more encouragement to find maths fun.
Can anyone suggest any good websites that they have used, for this age group?
Many thanks,
Lisa.

DSs school has clearly just subscribed to Mathletics and they are both addicted (Y6 and Y4). Personally, I have no idea what it's like or what it costs though.

ictgames.com (although might be a little easy)
Have you looked at tutpup? You'll need to register but it's free and lots of fun, a great way to improve mental maths strategies

mathswhizz you have to pay but it seems to work though maybe the incentives ie buying a virtual pet with your 'credits' per exercise may not appeal as much by yr 4
you can sign up by the month whereas some of the other paying sites like educationcity require a year.
do try maths bit of educationcity as trial fortnight is or was free

Mathletics is fabulous - we use it at school but you can also pay to be a home user (quite affordable) goes through the whole curriculum and it has great incentives (kids earn credits and then can buy things to dress their avatars). Kids also get to play against other kids live across the internet (very cool).

www.tutpup.com - does the same but its free - you can do live times tables competitions etc. Seriously fun!!

Hi HawkeyeLisa

You should have a look at this website

www.coolmath4kids.com/

Is this the kind of thing you were looking for?
