Charterhouse Square School or the Lyceum?

We live very close to Charterhouse Square and are trying to choose between Charterhouse Square School and the Lyceum as potential schools for our dd.

Does anyone have children who currently go to these schools? We have heard that Charterhouse used to be a bit of a hothouse but that the new head may be changing things a bit?

We are looking for a school with quite a balanced curriculum. We like the Lyceum but it is not as convenient as Charterhouse.

Many thanks.

Hi Iceberrywater, sorry only just checked back on this thread. I advertised - both on gumtree and a nanny website and then checked out references etc. Oddly the girl who came from the nanny website ended up being an idiot so you just can't tell. But looks like you can get people to help for awkward hours so worth asking for what you want. I think it's helpful to have someone local to you or the school as transport then becomes less of an issue. Hope that helps.

Hi everyone,

Is there a more recent update on this thread? My family and I are planning to return to London, as our little one will be starting Reception in 2027. Since we don't yet own a property, we are currently looking at small independent schools as an interim solution while we find a more permanent address and a state school we love.

We are currently considering these two schools — does anyone have more recent information or other recommendations? Many thanks!
