SICK WITH WORRY RE MY 6.5 DS

Hi,

I am going crazy here.

DS has done entry exams to 2 schools (to join year 3 in September) and is doing his third and final one tomorrow.

He is a "summer baby" and after a very slow start, is making great progress in year 2 of his current school - which only takes boys up to the end of year 2.

I am sick with worry about whether he will get into any of the 3 schools.

If there are any Colfes or Bickley mummies who have been through the year 3 entrances for either of those schools, I would really appreciate any comments about your experiences.

Thanks very much.

Hi I think I am in your area and whilst I only have DD, I know 2 families with Boys at Colfes who had private tuition to gain entry and absolutely love the school in every way.

Hope you get some more concrete advice on the exams but from what I hear they are both great schools.

Thanks BooHoo!

Just stressing about the "competition" he was up against. He had no private tuition; never thought of it!! Wondering how many others did; aaggh!! Anyway, its done and dusted now.

I really appreciate your replying.

If anyone else can spare a min with their views, that would be fab.

Sick with worry

Never mind, if he gets in to one of these schools, it will be him who is sick with worry in a few years time, whenever there's a test/assessment/exam/report/parents evening. You can relax then, let him take the strain

overmydeadbody · 20/01/2010 21:35

Well what is the point in being sick with worry when worrying won';t actually change anything?

You just need to relax and wait to see how he has done in the entrance exams.

Worrying is pointless

Of course there's a point in being worried sick!
How else is her ds going to learn to worry himself sick when he is at this school?
