yes, it's me again!
we have a slight problem at school.

ds1 has been watching numberjacks.
no, i am not goign to complain about the watching of television at school (though i was a bit about it to start with)- the problem is that he is really scared of it!

he has always, always hated it. i have no idea why he is scared, but he is.
the first time they had it on at school i figured it was a one off, but he's been really upset this afternoon because they watched it today.

so, can i ask for him not to watch it? will they say he has to?
he's the kind of child who will do what his teacher tells him, so if she says come and sit on the carpet, and then puts it on, he would never tell her he was scared.

Ooh, Numberjacks is a bit scary, especially that Numbertaker.
I'd have a quiet word with the teacher, see what he/she suggests.

I'm appalled that kids watch TV at school.

In this weather, DS1 gets 15 mins for lucnh then they watch a film for an hour.

I'm also v temnpted to ask for alternatives

I don't like the amount of DVD's they seem to be watching at school.
I would rather they played out in the snow

the day before they'd all been out to play, but yesterday he said that no-one went out. not sure if they weren't allowed out though, or if they just didn't want to.

hmm
well, no school today, but will broach with teacher when they get back

I am annoyed my DD is watching dvds at school - what a cop out! Surely there are many more things they could be doing with this age group!

They've seen the little mermaid, junglebook, Ben 10 , toy story, finding nemo etc etc at Reception and Year 1! DS1 often complains he's scared of the octopus from little mermaid...

We don't watch half as much telly at home! And we stop if anyone is scared. And numberjacks is a bit scary, though my kids have grown out of being scared and have started to play games involving "spooky spoon" .
