Or punctuation in general really?

We really need to 'crack' this issue in school so any tips would be much appreciated!

For punctuation generally, I get them to read their work aloud - if they pause for a breath, or in the natural flow of the reading, I say "right, did you need some punctuation there?" because usually you do need a . or a , . Capital letters follow on from that .
