Kids have bike training at school today. We've been told about this for weeks by the teachers - 'the children MUST bring in their bikes, their bikes will be stored in the school hall as they need them for 2 days, if it rains we still do bike training'.
So today, it's pouring down. DH postpones a meeting so he can get the bikes in his car and we duly go down to school in 2 cars. We push the bikes to the school to be told, that we can't take the bikes inside because they are wet and that it's been cancelled because of the rain. The staff wanted us to leave the bikes outside the building (which is a public right of way - loads of people walk past in the course of the day) in the rain to get soaking wet.
We loaded the bikes back into the car and took them home. DH is very annoyed and I'm soaked and steaming!
