Anyone with any views on moss hall or frith - or preferably both - we're applying in the next few weeks for sept 2010 and we cannot decide. Like them both and they have very different vibes.

Are the outcomes pretty much the same at the end of juniors?

I don't know a huge amount but people fight tooth and nail to get places at Frith.

Yes I hear it's excellent but also quite formal.

We're first time older parents and I think things have changed since you just send your kid to the nearest school.
Agh!

They are both very good schools and the results tend to go up and down as they do if you compare them. Frith Manor is very hard to get into - you must live on its doorstep but Moss Hall is almost as bad. I think the catchment area is 0.3 mile for both of them. Check out the Barnet educational website as they give details of the catchment area from last year.

Cool I'm in MH catchment for sure - frith - might get in as just over edge of their catchmet.

Everyone talking about frith but it would be short drive and at some point I need to work and I think it would be quite stressful.

MH is a short walk away and near tube station.

If they are both good I'll go with needing to earn money considerations, least stressful journey and also where I think LO (emotional little soul) will settle into the quickest.

many thanks!

Sounds like a nice position to be in It's the nicest possible type of school dilemma!

In your case I'd go to MH too.. Is your LO in the nursery?

giveitago · 03/12/2009 21:55

Yes, Mammy he's at the nursery and that's a consideration - LO is young for age so location and knowing people already will be important I think (and also being able to get me an income at some point!).

Yep, it is a good position I suppose but we are new parents and don't have the benefit of experience!!!!
