Poem with similes wanted for DS aged 8!

Homework- with the problem we're moving in a week so practically all his books are in boxes! NOT that his library abounds with poetry!

DS has to pick a poem, write it out (and illustrate it...), and basically know it (not by heart, just well enough to discuss it with his class).

Can YOU think of one that won't have him transcribing all weekend?!

I was thinking of 'Twinkle, twinkle' but I suspect most of the class will come up with that?!

My love is like a red red rose....?

I thought of that but don't think DS2 would stand up in front of a class and explain WHY his love was like a red, red rose!

Remember always doing this at school but can't remember what age... abit depressing although could just do first verse for similes

Timothy Winters
Timothy Winters comes to school
With eyes as wide as a football pool,
Ears like bombs and teeth like splinters:
A blitz of a boy is Timothy Winters.

His belly is white, his neck is dark,
And his hair is an exclamation mark.
His clothes are enough to scare a crow
And through his britches the blue winds blow.

When teacher talks he won't hear a word
And he shoots down dead the arithmetic-bird,
He licks the patterns off his plate
And he's not even heard of the Welfare State.

Timothy Winters has bloody feet
