Does anyone do Kumon English

DD is 6 (year 2) and does the math which I am very happy with. I just wondered if anyone who does/did Kumon could tell me what they think of the English and if covers subjects not covered at school (state school if it makes a dofference -- not sure if it does).

Thanks!

We dont do but two of our friends have done english and they say that it is not worth the trouble.

We did both with dd at the same age.

English definately not worthwhile.Would do workbooks from WH Smiths instead if you want to do something similar but better.Just finding out what they are covering at school and reinforcing/extending at home helps most.

I think the fact we did both meant we stopped Kumon after a year as dd just found it too much.

Kumon Maths was good, really reinforced the basics and I think this basic numeracy stuck with her.

Oh, I don't want her to go off the math. I think I will look for other English material. Mabe I'll look at waterstones this weekend.

Anyone else? Just thought maybe I could get a few more opinions before I chuck in the idea of Kumon English.
