Accelerated reader/ star reader, do the points mean any thing?

I mean the point levels they can read from.

Is my dd school the only one uses this scheme for reading.

Could well be...I had the same response to a post about the same reading scheme!

Its a very good scheme....one that allot of schools should consider ...my dd entered the scheme when we change schools in jan 09...and the books available are very good.

She;s just into yr 3 and on level 4.3 on the scheme...she achieved a 3A for reading at the end of yr 2...so I guess that level 3 is broadly the same has 3 point something books.
