If your dc is in a private primary (pre prep) are all the parents really posh?

I am not, I am more of your Primarni girl. I am a bit concerned that all of the parents are my dc's new school are going to be terribly groomed and a bit scareymary

Can anybody reassure me?

Mostly normal.

Lots of drop-off in gym-kit, pick-up in shades and pashminas.

Lots of women who've left the City and can't quite get over it (they're all on the PTA now).

What you might find are lots of nannies and au pairs.

Bodentastic or wellies and pearls where we live with a smattering of nouveau nasties..

Nice and not so nice people. Most of my friends/some family go to pre prep schools around here.

Depends entirely where you are but I've never seen anyone smoking/drinking coffee out of paper cups/swearing at their kids. So I must really lower the tone by falling over getting out of my car/walking to the door with skirt tucked into pants/birds nest hair.

Have you not seen or met any other parents?

Very mixed in ours. People who obviously have lots of money, others have grandparents helping out and both parents working etc.

Mixed bunch with ours. I turn up looking like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards. Always late and always rushing as I struggle to get to the childminder for the baby and then on to work. Everyone seems nice. There is a lot of cash around, but most seem really nice with it. I have felt a few bitchy vibes - but no more than the local play group ! I'm there for my little boy and so I don't pay much attention. I don't have the time anyway. On the whole everybody is lovely.
