What are usual state primary school hours?

Just trying to do some advanced planning, working out whether I'll need to get a childminder to do drop-offs and pick-ups.

What is the earliest generally you can drop a child at school (ignoring breakfast clubs) and when do they need to be picked up?

At our school, earliest is 8.40. Pick up at 3.15.

Breakfast club and after school club - 7.30 to 6.00.

It varies from school to school but around 8.45 to 3.30

Our school gates are unlocked at 8.30am, but the playground is unsupervised until 8.40am.
Pick up is 3.15, if you are regularly 10 minutes late than you get a stiff letter from the head.

DS's school starts at 8:50 and pick up is 3:15 (reception) and 3:20 (rest of school)

Depends on the school! We have a teacher out on the playground from 8.45 and in theory children should not be left before then as they are unsupervised, in practice many of the older ones are hanging round the bike shed from 8.30
Pick up is 3.10 for KS1, 3.15 for KS2 but again this depends on whether children have afternoon breaks etc.

There's a general consensus (sp?) there, thanks. Looks like I'll need some help as I don't expect work will let me do 9:30am to 2:30 pm!

our school starts at 8.55am but the playground is supervised from 8.45am. School finishes at 3pm

My DDs school is 9 to 3.15 with no supervision outwith those times.

Infant playground open and unsupervised from 8.40, school starts at 8.55 and finishes at 15.10

Junior playround open from about 8.40 and is supervised. They finish later though, about 15.20.

At our school 8.50 is the earliest that reception can be there, pick up is 3.30pm.

At our school earliest drop is supposed to be 8.40 and pick up is 3.30.But it will vary from school to school

You lucky buggers. DS school (infants) finishes at 2.30 and DD (Middle school next door) finishes at 2.45!!!!!!

It is a constant source of annoyance and debate in our area!! (And yes, I do understand that school is not a child care facility!)

My DC1's school starts at 8.20 for KS2 and 8.25 for KS1.

They finish at 2.30.

The playground is not supervised at these times.

Early start/finish here too - 8.25 start and 2.45 finish. I really like it.
