Hello my son has just gone into year 4 and one of the sections of his homework this week is number sequences, some are pretty straight forward, but we have a difference of opinion on the last one, this is it.

-16,-9, -2, -, -, -, -.

do we go up or down?

Thank you in advance.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

You are adding 7

hocuspontas · 17/09/2009 18:24

5, 12, 19, 26 is my answer (Although no mathematician )

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 17/09/2009 18:25

Up looks like the obvious choice but it depends on whether the symbols are minus signs or dashes to show a gap. A bit ambiguous but I would go for:

5, 12, 19, 26

If it is just adding 7 ..

5, 12, 19, 26???

lynniep · 17/09/2009 18:25

er

I'd probably go for -16, -9, -2, 5, 12, 19
