CM picking up from 2 schools

I'm having terrible trouble finding a childminder to do the school run for me 2 days per week. So far I've phoned the closest 25 childminders in our area and only found 2 that go to dd's school. I went to visit both and found that they also go to other schools. One of them said that she would do it but only if the school would keep hold of her for 10 or 15 minutes. I'm not comfortable with this idea and I doubt the school would do this anyway. I think it would be upsetting for a 4 year old to have to sit in the school office when all the other children have gone home.

I'm going to make some more calls today but I'm not confident. Fortunately my sister is able to help out temporarily but she's moving house soon and will be too far away.

Is this common? Do you have any experience of your dc being the one who has to wait to be picked up?

Thanks twinkletoescare. I've just posted there.

I'll keep an eye on this thread though in case anyone has any advice.
