Are black trainers instead of shoes a no-no?

I am sending ds1 in black trainers this year. Smart enough, practical and comfortable.

even clarks sell a black trainer type shoe.

What about something like this?

But with no white at all on them?

Ds1 is going in Umbro ones, because they were £8.50 and they are leather. They look similar to that.

Under trousers, all you will see is the black toe anyway.

DS wore black trainers -- "trainer style school shoes" I think Clarks call them. Have lights, too (can be turned off or on).

Thanks for the replies x

I don't actually like many of the Clarks boys shoes really, I never have. Both me and the hubby couldn't see any we liked in their yesterday plus it was like a cattle market in there
