Anyone have a child starting reception at WOODLEY PRIMARY in STOCKPORT?

This is really on the off-chance...

We just moved back to the UK and DD has a place at Woodley primary, but because we were offered the place so late, the school is now shut, so I have no idea what date the reception class starts on!

Apart from not having an idea what to say to DD, It could also make the difference between a quick weekend away before school starts or not and I obviously want to book that soon, not wait until 1 week before school, when there MAY be some one back at the school.

The LEA are no use either...

Thanks in advance [hopeful]

Thanks for that. I looked at the website, phoned the LEA, left an answerphone message at the school, Mumsnet was really the last-ditch effort.

Bump for the evening crowd.

I would have followed the term dates on the LEA website, but our neighbour's son (who is starting reception at a different primary) is starting a week after the normal school, so it's made me wonder if Woodley are doing a similar thing.
Hum.

State primary schools in Stockport are returning on September 7th this year or the 8th if they have an inset day.

Also, is there a Woodley forum you could ask on? There is a Stockport one.

This is the Poynton forum. Register and ask on here as someone is bound to know>

Ooh, thanks, I'll search for a Woodley Forum!

I know the main school will open on the 8th, that's what they say on their answer machine message, it's just if the reception class starts later (as it will at Romiley Primary down the road). I'd hate to turn up on the 8th with DD all dressed up and then have to take her away again for another week.

It might be worth checking with nearby private nurseries or preschools as they may have pre-schoolers going into reception. They may be able to put you in touch with parents.

Good idea madamy -I'll try to research that tomorrow.
