Hi all Ive namechanged due to the whole DM urgh and as my kids are interested in Pandoras box I thought a themed name would be nice

Anyway we are making pandora's boxes (decorating laundry tablet boxes) and filling them with home made bugs

So far we are going to make spiders - using pipecleaners
Caterpillars - folding paper concertina style

Has anyone got anymore ideas

TIA

I am interested! Bugs would be a good crafty idea for our toddler group.

What about making stick and cotton thread cobwebs, little ones on string. Could you put eyes and legs on milk bottle tops?

What a lovely idea! How about butterflies - make paint handprints on big pieces of paper then fold paper along edge of thumb whilst paint still wet to make a mirror image of that print, which (if you've understood my hopeless explanation) should look a bit like butterfy shapes. Milk/juice carton lids are useful for bug bodies?

We painted stones to be bugs here boys loved it!!

lots of ideas here and here

Those ideas are brilliant
Especially those links mrz - just what I was looking for

This afternoon we made

Spiders - pipecleaners for legs, wool for body
caterpillars - concertina paper
sprite thingys! - pipecleaner body, feather wings

And a tissue paper body, pipecleaner body butterfly to represent hope

The bugs represent hate, jealousy, cruelty, anger, hunger, poverty, pain, sickness, old age, death

I love Kids Craft Weekly (which isn't actually weekly!). Some lovely (and very easy) ideas, all themed.
