We got a discount last term (a combination of problems - looming redundancy, death duties to pay...), but we now have the actual redundancy, stuck with a property we can't sell (to be split between siblings...). The HM was lovely and I know the school offers discounts and bursaries but would it be pushing it to ask for another terms' discount. I suppose we could manage but I am worried about long term unemployment.
DP doesn't know I got a discount last time - I was so distraut about all the things going on I just went to the HM and asked him.

No harm done asking I guess but if this is a long term problem surely you need to be considering state options.
