Dunno - mine got all fives when she did Y6 sats.

choccyp1g · 14/07/2009 10:23

Plenty working at this level in Y3 Normal for Y4. At least that's what the G&T people tell me.

2sugarsandapuppy · 14/07/2009 10:33

choccy, she's Y6 - and what are you doing mixing with all those Gin and Tonic people?

From my understanding a child is expected to achieve a level 4 by the end of year 6. So a 4 is 'average', 5 better than average, 3 below average, presumably.

Seriously Choccyp1g? Plenty working at this level in year 3 and normal for y4???

EccentricaGallumbits · 14/07/2009 12:46

4 is national average.5 is above national average.

end of yr 6 level 4 means absolutely fie and dandy. level 5 is a bonus.

utterly meaningless drivel.

seeker · 14/07/2009 12:46

I would be surprised at "plenty' working at level 4 in year 3. There are 4 in ds's class of 28, and it is considered to be a "bright year"

seeker · 14/07/2009 12:47

Second the utterly meaningless drivel comment.

spongebrainmaternitypants · 14/07/2009 12:51

totally normal, but also agree on totally meaningless

i'm a Y6 teacher btw!

titchy · 14/07/2009 13:02

I think the first posts were tongue in cheek...

choccyp1g · 16/07/2009 11:38

Came back to this a few days later. Agree with Eccentrica, the comparisons are it is meaningless.
I was kind of joking, but semi-serious, as "plenty at this level" is exactly the response to the OP on this G&T thread.
