Hi

Just got DD report which is glowing and it has levels on it. English states 2b, maths 2
science nad creative development, IT say 1

Is this ok or does she need support over the summer?

2b is the average expectation for Year 2, nwmum, so no need to worry.

Tommy · 10/07/2009 22:06

sounds fine to me at end of yr 1

Just got the DSs' reports and it says that at the end of KS1 (i.e. end of yr 2) the expected is level 2

She needs to play and relax over the summer

debs40 · 10/07/2009 22:56

Does it not give you information with the report on how these things are graded? How strange? Yes, as the others have said, your DD is clearly doing very well

davidla · 13/07/2009 14:58

Yes, it's weird that they don't tell you what these grades mean!
Our DS got 1A's - but I had to check with the school to see if that was a good or a bad thing!
Anything with a 2 in it is good for an end of year 1 student.

seeker · 13/07/2009 20:17

If the report is glowing how could she possibly need support over the summer???????

kylesmybaby · 15/07/2009 13:22

what a dumb question - report is glowing - does she need support???? - errr ... yes of course she does!!

Haven't you checked with her tutor?

What you mean you don't have one?

Heavens to Betsy

Rush to Kumon... stat

She could be [gulp] failing to exceed her true potential.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 15/07/2009 13:30

So much easier in my day when you had A+ to E on the report card.

OrmIrian · 15/07/2009 13:31

She is doing very well. But the report said that anyway didn't it?

DS#2's report is due on Friday. I will be chuffed to bits if he's made it into positive integers

lou031205 · 15/07/2009 13:35

All this sly attention seeking is getting a bit wearing now. If your child has done well in their report, feel free to come on here and tell the world. But don't come on playing games and asking if your DC needs help when their report is glowing & clearly all is well.

If you look at the SATs results before you send your DC to the school it is quite clear what they should get at the end of Key Stage 1.

sweetfall · 15/07/2009 13:47

Is this the boasting thread?

DS (year 3) got a 4c in maths, 4c in reading and 3c in writing (ok so that one's a bit average but he's a reluctant reader so I'm not surprised his writing is average)

still think sats are bollocks tbh

yes I have by accident as I assumed this thread was dead after feenie's helpful reply.
My inital post was a simply question as our school does not do sats and was surprised to see sat like levels with no explanation. In hindsight support may not have been the best choice of phrase.

I am amazed that so many people feel the need to be so pathetic and bitchy. Lockets I am so glad that you have a dd doing long division and multiplication and reaging Pulman and Morpurgo.

Oh look! I,ve managed to descend to the pathetic levels of mumsnet. What a waste of time this site is!
