Scottish primary - assessment level A

Anyone on here with a P1 - P3 child? At what age/class did they attain level A in reading and writing? My child aged 6 has now passed this in P2. How does this compare? I know she is definitely not ahead, I just want to check to see if she is behind!

Dh (teacher) reliably informs me that this is bang on target. Level B by the end of Primary 4, Level C before starting P7, and Level D/E by the time you leave primary.

my dd is 7, just finished P3 today, I have no idea really!

She has passed level B maths/reading/writing and is on level C - at no point have I been told where she "should" be, I think with the introduction of the curriculum for excellence it will all be changing again? I don't think she works particularly hard, there is no pressure on the children, and only certain competitive parents are interested in what level your child is on.

I agree with TTT, attaining Level A is exactly spot on although some children would achieve it in P3 and this is the default level. (ie if you did not have A by end of P3 in maths, writing and reading there is perhaps a cause for concern.)
