I'm sure it's January 2011 - Am I right?

Thanks.

Depending on the intakes that the school has, if she went to the school that my dd's go to she will start September 2010, both my dd's started in September, one was 4 in March and the other was 4 in August.

My ds1 was 3 in May, i'm expecting him to start Sept 2010.

The Sept after they turn 4 i thought.

The earliest for her to start reception would be September 2010 (assuming that you are in England). Many LEAs no longer have a main January intake for funding reasons, so you will need to check with your LEA.

Depends on the area you're in. Many areas take them all in September, so she would go in September 2010. Others areas have January and April intakes for the children who turn 5 later in the academic year, so it could be Jan. or April 2011.

Legal school age is the term after they turn 5 but most go to school earlier than that.

Thanks. Many school's in this area (Devon) have admission's in both Jan and Sept. I've looked on the DCC website and going by my dd's birthday, she can be admitted in the January she's turned 4 in most school's. So Jan 2011 by the looks of it! So soon!!

steviesgirl the Govt is on at LEAs to change to one admission across the country (it happened where I live (east Mids) in between DS1 starting and DD starting 2 yrs later).

Just to warn you that it might be 2010 after all.

And FWIW I think one entry for the whole year is a Good Thing (havign experienced both, vicaiously at least)
