Any F2 teachers who are great at planning? - I'm confused about learning objectives

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I always get great advice on family life here, so I thought I'd ask ... When you're writing your short term planning(weekly overview and group session plans)where do you take your learning objectives from? I know the EYFS tells you what children should know by the end of F2, then there are the judgements in the guidance and the Early Learning Goals. This is all new to me and I am sooooooooo confused!

It depends on the class.

If my class is not far short of the ELGs, then I put those down as the learning objectives. If, however, it's the beginning of the year, or I'm working with a group who are not yet working near ELGs, then I might use the "development matters" statements most appropriate to that class, or group of children.
