I work in a reception class as a 1-1 support. One of our little boys (not the 1 I support) has visual and hearing problems anlong with CP. He also struggles with speach but is doing very very very very well.. He is constantly talking and his speach is getting clearer. As with any child where you are trying to build speech up he says "a cow " you say "tahts right it is abig cow" ect to build on the language. Now today we had a visit from the hearing imparement woman who got cross with him and kept repeatily shouting at him to say what was in the pricture.
She then asked his 1-1 to leave the room. For over an hour she was there shouting thing like " Now tell me what this is" She even suggested that he didnt have his milk and fruit which they usually have mid morning so that he could keep going. At this his TA said no that he needed a break. Is that any way to get a gourouse little boy who is only 5 to talk? She also said he was very stoubn and needed to start to do as he was told.
