6 year old bully

Hi, I'm new to this, so here goes! My son was smacked in the face on 2 occasions at his schools after school club last week. The first time the boy denied it, although he was put in a time-out. The second time the boy admitted it, I presume 'cos there was a mark on my son's face and he couldn't deny it. He was again put in a time-out. What should I expect the school to do about it? Is a time-out a reasonable discipline for deliberate smacking? The boy has verbally been mean before making my son miserable but this is the first physical attack.

Would appreciate others opinions.

I think it depends on the school although I am surprised that a physical attack like this has not been treated more seriously. Who runs the after-school club? And will a time-out during club be logged and count towards sanctions during school hours, or just be an in-club matter? I would want to know a) how many time-outs before something else is done and b) if his class-teacher will be made aware of it.

Im sorry but you do you know exactly what happened?
Or weather this boy has some sort of SEN or behavioural problem? The child I work with can be and is sometimes violent towards other children and he recives quiet time to think about what has happened and when he is calm we talk about why it happend excetra and I offer alternative ways to deal with teh situation. More serious incidents are written down but what can else can be done. The issue may not be as black and white as they seem.
