DD2 is in Reception and part of her weekly homework is a sound book. Previously she has had to do things like, 'Draw objects beginning with the letters s and a' or 'ending with th and ch', last week she had her name written over and over again in dots and she had to trace over it. Well, this week her homework says 'Write some CVC words containing the letter 'a' and draw a picture to match each word'. What the heck are CVC words?!! I will ask at school when I pick her up today but I just wondered it any of you knew?!

I think it stands for consanant vowel consanant, so words such as cat, boy, bag etc.
