This is year is the first year I have no concerns at all so what do normal people without any bullying, maths or spellings issues ask ?

I just used to let the teacher waffle on for two minutes or so and then leg it.

"How's everything going?", then "Is there anything we should know?" or "Is there anything extra we could be doing?". Hopefully the teacher will know what they should be telling you, so all you have to do is look interested!

speaking from the side of the teacher...I always appreciate it when parents ask how they can help their child at home...and actually are interested in the answer, and are going to follow through! Its amazing how many ask the question, but could care less as to what the answers are! Other than that, how are they getting on, bringing up any previous concerns to see if they are still the case, depending on age of child, how they are getting on socially, are there any behaviour difficulties etc...
