Please help me! The DSs need to go to school next Friday in 60's Fashion - any ideas?

Their school is celebrating it's 40th anniversary next Friday and they want the children to go in dressed in 60's fashion!

I am struggling to find anything though in the charity shops and on ebay and don't know where else to look, I only have a week! I was thinking of perhaps sending one as a mod and the other as a rocker? (Or just getting them some funky shirts even as a last resort.) They are 6 and 9 but are tall for their ages. DS2 is an extrovert and more happy to dress up than DS1 who is a little more reserved.

Any ideas anyone???

Early Beatles look would be an easy option, white shirt with thin black tie or black polo neck jumper with black trousers and brushed forward hair? Or is that a bit dull?

Oooh, no thats good! DS1 would be more likely to go for that one and DS2's hair would easily do that (if we don't get it cut this weekend)!

By the end of the 60's the hippy look was coming in, flares, tie dye t-shirts, headbands, beads, tassles? Or beatnik, all in black, turtle neck, beret, moustache and beard drawn on?

How about going as one of the Thunderbirds? Classic 60's icon, and should be pretty simple to reproduce. Or I should think if you google Thunderbirds costume you should be able to find one from somewhere.
